Raffaella and Andrew introduce to the toolkit of a business analyst the concept of ‘design thinking’ and demonstrate how it can add value to the process, outputs and outcomes we deliver for our clients. Important ingredients such as people,  working environment and the sense of ‘making’ are also explored. 3. Open Discussion: Why should BA’s be creative and innovative?”
The strategic importance of creativity and  innovation continues to gain recognition, significance and importance both worldwide and in the UK. This panel will draw together leading practitioners and thought leaders from Business, Business Analysis and Design.   The session will take a ‘Question Time’ format and will examine  the challenges facing BA’s to meet the demand for more creative solutions. James Archer will host one of the liveliest sessions of the conference.

4. Conference Closing Discussion
Some of the conference presenters will share what they discovered during the Conference.  You are encouraged to share your views. Finally, this is the opportunity for the community to discuss what should happen to make the Business Analysis Conference Europe 2012 a huge success.

One of the hottest topics of discussion within the business analysis community is that of qualifications and certifications, both as part of organisational best practice and individual career paths. The business analysis qualifications and career clinics provide conference delegates with the opportunity to discuss their own and their team’s requirements regarding qualifications. They also provide an opportunity to have questions answered regarding business analysis and related qualifications with experts and representatives of the main certification awarding bodies.

IIBAInternational Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA®) is a non-profit professional association focused on developing the role and professional recognition of the business analyst.

The UK Chapter was formed in November 2006 and our value proposition centres on being the “Business Analyst Networking Hub”, providing our members and the wider business analysis community with knowledge sharing, events, professional development, best practice & standards, and professional certification. The UK Chapter also works collaboratively with other professional associations, including BCS and ISEB, enabling a centralised approach to the development of the business analysis profession within the UK.
Business Analysis is the set of tasks, knowledge, and techniques required to identify business needs and determine solutions to business problems. A business analyst works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyse, communicate and validate requirements for change.

The role of the business analyst has evolved significantly over the last couple of years in the UK. The valuable contributions made by the business analyst are now becoming recognised at all levels within the organisation to ascertain business problems or identify opportunity areas, to enable successful business solutions and meet the challenging needs of companies today. This evolution of the business analyst role has benefited as organisations undergo significant changes to respond to economic uncertainties. Business analysts are now increasingly working within areas such as business strategy, organisational change, operational improvements, and new product/service development.
