An Electrical Engineering and Computer Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with an MBA from INSEAD, Europe's leading Business School, provides him with a unique mix of technical and business perspective. Andrew has over 16 years in management roles in the Data Management Industry, including as CEO of a VC-backed encryption start-up, and European Managing Director of an American data monitoring Software Company. In his current role as Business Development Manager EMEA for Sybase, Andrew works with strategic clients and partners to develop and deliver business value propositions based on leading-edge Sybase modeling, metadata management and analytics technology solutions.

Dave Walker

Dave Walker

David Walker has worked in the Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing space since 1990, first as an end user, then at a software house before becoming the technical leader for databases at hardware vendor Sequent Computer Systems. In 1995 he left to become a founder and co-owner of Data Management & Warehousing, a boutique consultancy specializing in large-scale business intelligence systems.

David and his team have worked around the world on projects designed to deliver the maximum benefit to the business by converting data into information and finding ways in which to help businesses exploit that information.

David's project work has given him wide industry experiences including Telcos (Energis, Turkcell, MTC Kuwait, Telkom SA, Swisscom, Retevision), Finance (Virgin, Aviva, Prudential, Akbank, Alfabank), Retail (Albert Heijn, LMUK), Manufacturing (Diageo, Mars Novar) and Transport (Network Rail).

David has written extensively on all aspects of data warehousing from the technical architecture and data model design through ETL and data quality to project management and governance.
