| Business Process
Management has evolved into a major discipline
linking business and organisational aspects with enabling
BPMS technology. The latest developments and best practices
are often made available through international publications,
seminars and websites. Also, more and more national
BPM communities are formed to support knowledge sharing.
The main benefits of national communities is that information
can be shared face-to-face in the local language and
local best practices can taking into account the local
culture. However, national communities, especially those
recently set up, go through a steep learning curve to
develop the community itself. Furthermore, often one
community may not be aware of the local best practices
in other communities or, have easy access to the international
BPM community.
To allow easy access to local knowledge a number of board members from existing
national BPM communities have recently formed the
“Process Community”. The Process Community
is an international and non-profit organisation. It
aims to provide support to the boards of national
non-profit BPM communities. Support can be provided
for the development and management of the community
itself. I.e. how to organize the BPM community? Furthermore,
local best practices can be shared by e.g. suggesting
speakers, providing case studies or facilitating international
reference visits. The Process Community can also facilitate
the alliance between a national BPM community and
international organizations.
The founding members of the Process Community represent
Belgium (BPM-Forum Belgium), France (club des pilotes
de processus, C2P) Ireland (Process Innovation Forum),
the Netherlands (BPM-Forum Netherlands) and Portugal
(IPBPM).

chairman Process Community at + 31 6 11045050 or NLinfo@bpm-forum.org. |
