The economic pressures of the past two years have tried the patience of all of us who are convinced that business processes are the only practical way to navigate a highly interconnected and customer oriented business world. Despite recent bumps in the road, a transition is clearly underway even if the pace sometimes seems slower than we would like. More and more, our customers only concern themselves with our ability to meet their interests and they judge us based on their experiences with our processes. When our business processes work they connect the beginning of a customer value stream all the way to its conclusion from the outside looking in. However, at the best of times changing how we do our work to accomplish cross functional connectivity is painful and difficult, requiring alignment to the end result and the latest in process management knowledge, capabilities and management commitment. In designing BPM Europe 2010 we have remained extremely aware that most organizations want to do a great job with their processes to enhance the outside-in experience of our customers. Therefore we have built an event that we think really delivers what practitioners and managers need right now to do so. We know that most businesses understand that a process centric point of view makes ultimate sense but many have not yet been able to make it a reality. For that reason, this year we have put together a conference that features the most inspirational yet down to earth set of case studies we have ever featured. These will be delivered by the analysts and managers that implemented the solutions and realized the ROI of process thinking. We have also added many 'think tank' sessions to allow delegates to discuss critical topics with other practitioners and industry thought leaders. Rounding out BPM Europe 2010 we have invited a series of special guests who are lead thinkers in the process profession to advise on directions and trends that we can expect soon. A special feature of BPM Europe 2010 will be combined delegate and thought leader sessions to discuss, learn and create ideas around the hot topics in BPM. These will be facilitated by a conference faculty member without presentations or a pre-set script. The topics for some of these will be voted by delegates at the beginning of the conference. The room will be set up to support peer discussion and collaboration and notes will be taken and posted on a community site after the event. |
