Introduction
from the Chair
It is my pleasure
to invite you to our 3rd annual MDM Summit this Spring in
London. Over the past 2 years, we have hosted over 3,500
IT professionals through the MDM Summit series (formerly
the CDI-MDM SUMMIT). From our initial kick-off in San Francisco
Spring 2006, this event has grown to a worldwide venue as the largest
gathering of data integration professionals ever – New York
City, San Francisco, Frankfurt, Madrid and Sydney. We are excited
to be back in the financial capital of Europe as we mutually update
ourselves during the several days of this timely event.
MDM
SUMMIT Europe 2008 is the premier European event,
attracting speakers and delegates from around the world. Please
join us as we engage practitioners from leading companies and thought
leaders in the field, to reveal strategies for successfully delivering
this mission-critical and game-changing infrastructure. This is
Europe’s largest gathering of MDM professionals
where we all look forward to sharing new insights whilst learning
from the broad network of European IT professionals who are committed
to excellence in Master Data Management.
Businesses already
deploying MDM as the basis for innovative, collaborative strategies
are exploiting enterprise master data solutions to create more effective
and innovative, real-time enterprises. These businesses
are dramatically reducing costs, meeting compliance reporting mandates,
delivering increased sales and marketing effectiveness, and providing
superior service to customers and suppliers. “Wait
and see” is no longer an option as these enterprises
are quickly taking the lead in many markets. As an IT executive,
you need to understand this evolution out of historically conflicting
“multiple sources of the truth”. You need to empower
your people to excel at “mastering master data”.
Contemporary
solutions to a “unified customer view,” and
similar master data initiatives range from do-it-yourself infrastructure
initiatives closely tied to the service-oriented architecture
(SOA) model to commercial off-the-shelf applications such
as “data hubs” and “registries”.
Both variations require data modelling and data governance solutions
to navigate the physics and politics of large scale data management.
And both variations require measures of data preparation to cleanse
and enrich master data, as well as middleware to aggregate, propagate,
replicate, and synchronize such master data. And lastly, given the
newness and the complexity of such enterprise MDM initiatives, expertise
from consultants and systems integrators is welcome
MDM
SUMMIT Europe 2008 brings it all together. Jump start workshops,
best practice and case study presentations by leading organisations,
thought leadership keynotes by the most in-demand consultants and
analysts, and a lively “hands on” solutions expo. All
this via a combination of 50+ speakers, 15+ vendors, and three tracks
– all in one event.
Our
summit programme is structured for companies at all stages of MDM
initiatives – whether kickstarting a shared services
or service-oriented architecture to support universal customer views,
or developing a comprehensive business strategy to share master
data across all channels and partners in a 21st century information
supply chain.
Moreover, our
timely London event promises to leverage the unique blend of experience
and enthusiasm that European IT professionals offer.
I look
forward to meeting you and your MDM team this April in London.
