Aiken |
Peter Aiken founded Data Blueprint (a professional services company providing value-based data engineering) in 1999 and is an Associate Professor (Information Systems/Virginia Commonwealth University). His experience and research has widely explored data and its relationship to systems and business engineering. He is the author of Data Reverse Engineering and Clive Finkelstein's co-author of Building Corporate Portals Using XML (McGraw-Hill 1996/99). His sixth book XML in Data Management is co-authored with David Allen. He has held leadership positions with the US Department of Defense and consulted with more than 50 organizations in 18 different counties. His research publications have appeared in the Communications of the ACM, IBM Systems Journal, IEEE Software and many others. He is a member of ACM, and the IEEE (Senior Member). He has been a DAMA International Advisor since 1999 and has received two of their International Achievement Awards. He has lectured internationally on these and related topics.

Ken Dunn heads the Information Architecture team for BP. In this role he is responsible for the development and implementation of IT strategies to help BP manage and gain greater value from their vast information assets. His team drives the Master Data Management, Data Warehousing and Document Management strategies for the company. Over the last 4 years they have initiated programs to improve Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Access, Data Modeling and Metadata Management. Ken moved into this field after 15+ years in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. He built data warehouses for several companies including a 10 terabyte data warehouse for BP’s Downstream US operations. Ken graduated from the University of Tasmania, Australia and he also has a Masters degree from the University of Sydney.
