Further consolidation experience with Edexcel Foundation (following a merger of the very different examination bodies of BTEC and London University). I still have the scars.

Head of ICT at the Port of Dover since 1999 where the main challenges have been upgrading operations systems (such as Port Control) and integrating them the management systems, such as finance and asset management. Responsible for all ICT at the port including such diverse things as radar, radios, CCTV and freight weighbridges!

After university in New Zealand Bob joined the RAF for pilot training. He deployed for the Gulf War, and has flown Jaguars over Iraq, Bosnia and Kosovo. He spent several years instructing NATO pilots in task analysis, planning, and problem solving skills, as well as airborne tactics. He served as the Strike Command Flight Safety Officer and analysed many incidents and accidents to determine causes and remedies. He quickly realised that the vast majority of incidents were caused by ‘human factors’ and team performance issues. He concentrated on teaching teamwork, communication skills, crew resource management and performance analysis, to reduce accidents and enhance performance. This analysis and performance training expertise he now deploys as a StepChange Training consultant, together with continued work in aviation training, and in research projects for the UK MoD and the US DoD.

Zachman is the originator of the "Framework for Enterprise Architecture" which has received broad acceptance around the world as an integrative framework, or "periodic table" of descriptive representations for Enterprises. He is not only known for this work on Enterprise Architecture, but is also known for his early contributions to IBM’s Information Strategy methodology as well as to their Executive team planning techniques.

Mr. Zachman retired from IBM in 1990, having served them for 26 years. He is Chief Executive Officer of the Zachman Institute for Framework Advancement (ZIFA), an organization dedicated to advancing the conceptual and implementation states of the art in Enterprise Architecture.
