KEYNOTE: Data Resource Stability Across Evolving
Trends
Mike Brackett, President, DAMA International
Business strategies are constantly changing and data management technology
continues to evolve. The fact remains, however, that the data resource
must support the business information needs of an organisation in
spite of these changes. The dilemma is that the current data resource
in most organisations is very disparate, is getting more disparate
with time, and is not meeting the business information needs. An initiative
needs to be implemented to bring stability to an organisation’s data
resource that transcends both business and technology change. This
presentation covers the current state of the data resource in most
organisations and how that data resource can be stabilised to readily
meet the changing needs for information to support business strategies.
