IBTECH, founded in 2005, is the IT R&D subsidiary of Finansbank. IBTECH is a leading technology company in Turkey providing software applications and infrastructure services on core banking systems, data mining, CRM and banking delivery channels. Also, IBTECH leads the IT vision of Finansbank and its subsidiaries according to technological improvements. In addition to Finansbank’s IT projects, IBTECH provides consultancy and support to some of the NBG Group Members in Europe. Mr. Akusta has joined Turkiye Is Bankasi in 1999 and has held several positions starting from software development specialist to technical project manager. Since August 2007, he has been working for IBTECH, which is the IT subsidiary of Finansbank, as a Project Manager. Currently, he is managing the portfolio of the projects including Cards Payment Systems Project in Banca Romaneasca-Romania, AML Implementation Project in Finansbank, several IT projects for Human Resources, Procurement, and Retail Banking Departments in Finansbank. Mr. Burak Akusta has Computer Engineering Bachelor’s Degree from METU and holds PMP Certification and Sun Certified Java Programmer Certificate.

Ahmed Al-Sanad has a broad industry background that has enabled him to successfully deliver complex IT projects – covering technical, business and management aspects with equal ease in aerospace industry, water desalination industry and telecommunications industry. In his current role as CRM Director with Saudi Telecom Company (STC), a multi-billion dollar company, Mr. Al-Sanad has successfully delivered a CRM solution for Saudi Data – on time, on budget and to specifications – and is now overseeing the strategically important Oracle Universal Customer Master (UCM) project that encompasses all business units of STC – including Al Hatif (landline services, card and public phones), Al Jawal (mobile and messaging services), Saudi Net (ISP), and Saudi Data (data solutions). An important part of his responsibilities is to ensure a common approach among all the business units, while respecting their individual business requirements, and subsequently transforming this to a set of coherent UCM functionalities. Mr. Al-Sanad furthermore has overall responsibility for defining the strategies behind both the UCM and a customer-centric focus, and providing the link between business users and technical personnel. He is also a university instructor and a speaker at international conferences.

Pascal Amaridon

Pascal Amaridon’s responsibilities include building a global data management strategy within Michelin. Mr. Amaridon demonstrated the business case and methodology to manage data assets within a global, complex landscape and accordingly put together a delivery organization to reuse existing assets to maximize business and IT gains. Currently, he heads the IS data management domain dealing with data governance, enterprise data definition and modelling, master data management solutions and data quality. With a central team of data architects, Mr. Amaridon works closely with the business data owners, data stewards, data experts and IT teams – across methods and tools, application delivery and integration, and BI – to transform data expectations into concrete deliverables bridging silos of geographic zones, product lines, and business processes.

Prior to his current role within Michelin, he was both project manager and solution manager for marketing & sales projects dealing with Siebel B2B solutions, market shares and BI solutions. Additionally, he was Michelin’s expertise BI solution consultant within the worldwide data warehouse and BI program. In parallel as leader of the global data management domain, Mr. Amaridon currently acts as a Global Enterprise Data architect to ensure IT projects alignments with enterprise data expectations. Prior to Michelin, he was engaged by key European enterprises for large scale projects in manufacturing, sales management and marketing intelligence. Mr. Amaridon is a qualified engineer from the Institute of Applied Computer Science and Modelling (ISIMA) at Blaise Pascal University.

Gareth Bath, an Engineer in the Royal Air Force, is the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) Data Authority for the Ministry of Defence’s (MOD) Joint Support Chain (JSC). His responsibilities include: developing a coherent Support Chain (SC) EDW data set which provides effective support to military operations; supporting the development of a coherent JSC data model, a key foundation stone for the JSC’s Future Logistic Information Services (FLIS) programme; providing or sourcing MOD advice for the SC EDW and Business Intelligence Competency Centre (BICC) teams and external contractors on military logistic processes and applications; and identifying data sources to meet developing BICC reporting requirements. The developing data management strategy for the EDW in the realms of Master Data and Metadata management are key to the success of the SC EDW in providing a single view of the joint MOD/Industry logistics business. Gareth is currently working closely with the JSC Data Quality Management and FLIS programme teams to develop a standards-based methodology to consistently document the JSC’s many transactional database systems, some of which are more than 30 years old, and identify where common master data requirements exist.

Gareth’s previous role was leading a team administering Defence Information Infrastructure (DII) services for the Royal Air Force’s Headquarters Air Command, during which his team supported the merger of Headquarters Personnel and Training Command and Strike Command at Royal Air Force High Wycombe to form a new single headquarters organisation. He has also lead teams in support of front-line Tornado aircraft operations at Royal Air Force Leuchars and aircraft ground support equipment for the Hercules transport fleet while implementing ‘Lean’ support processes at Royal Air Force Lyneham. Gareth has a Bachelors Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Bristol and a Masters Degree in Software Techniques for Computer Aided Engineering from Cranfield University.

In 2000, Pierre co-founded Orchestra Networks a software vendor developing and marketing a MDM solution for business users. After several successful publications of best practices in the SOA and web services field, he participated in the launching of the Praxeme Institute a non-profit organization and with Dominique Vauquier and Philippe Desfray co-authored the enterprise methodology Praxeme.  At the end of 2007, Pierre launched the Sustainable IT Architecture community (S-IT-A) that rallies companies around three key principles securing IS overhaul in a progressive way, for more sustainable information systems and software: SOA maturity matrix and the associated governance, and the criteria for evaluating enterprise methods in the context of the IS overhaul.

Anthony Day has twenty years experience with Oracle -- spanning database and integration technologies through to MDM applications. Based at Oracle’s UK headquarters in Reading, Anthony is responsible for Oracle’s MDM Product Strategy in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He began his career at Oracle in 1989 focusing on database technologies before moving to Siebel Systems in 1997 where he spent nine years gaining deep customer domain expertise and overseeing the introduction of the first three releases of Siebel’s Universal Customer Master Hub. Following the acquisition of Siebel Systems by Oracle Corporation in early 2006, his responsibilities were broadened to cover all of Oracle’s customer mastering products and more recently extended to cover the full suite of Oracle’s MDM solutions. Anthony’s role involves working closely with Oracle’s key customers to ensure business goals and technical requirements are met. This high level of customer engagement enables him to provide strategic input into the product definition and development plans.

He has experience and knowledge in many aspects of Information Management disciplines. He specialises in data quality, information architecture, metadata management, business intelligence and data extraction, transformation and load. Philip Howard started in the computer industry way back in 1973 and has variously worked as a systems analyst, programmer and salesperson, as well as in marketing and product management, for a variety of companies including GEC Marconi, GPT, Philips Data Systems, Raytheon and NCR. After a quarter of a century of not being his own boss, he set up his own company in 1992 and his first client was Bloor Research (then ButlerBloor), with himself working for the company as an associate analyst. His relationship with Bloor Research has continued since that time and he is now Research Director focused on Data Management. Data management refers to the management, movement, governance and storage of data and involves diverse technologies that include (but are not limited to) databases and data warehousing, data integration (including ETL, data migration and data federation), data quality, master data management, metadata management and log and event management. He also tracks spreadsheet management and complex event processing. In addition to the numerous reports Mr. Howard has written on behalf of Bloor Research, he also contributes regularly to IT-Director.com and IT-Analysis.com. Mr. Howard has also contributed to various magazines and written a number of reports published by companies such as CMI and The Financial Times. He speaks regularly at conferences and other events throughout Europe and North America.

Frederic Loriaux

Frederic Loriaux has broad experience in project management via over 15 years of ERP implementations with a focus on SAP implementation management.  His organizational skills have led him to take over Data Quality Management responsibility at Nestle France in a unique worldwide MDM context.  He is currently managing 18 people devolved to Data Quality control. Their role is to control Data Quality at its source and to track any risk of suboptimal quality to put in place corrective and sustainable actions.  Frederic secures the impacts of these actions by chairing a Data Governance committee comprised of senior managers who provide a company-wide network of data experts. He has built and set-up different tools and methods to govern the comprehensive knowledge of data usage within the enterprise to leverage it for the widest possible sharing.  He always implements his innovative approach of Data Quality on a wide scale which has acknowledged him as a prime mover in Information Management within Nestle.  Finally, Frederic is involved in various international work groups concerning Data Quality within the Retail and Manufacturing industries.  Mr. Loriaux received his engineering degree in Automation and Data Processing from National Institute of Industrial Chemistry in Rouen, France.

Tommy Loughlin

Tommy Loughlin is currently working on the Master Data Management (MDM) architecture for BT's strategic operational and business support systems. BT has adopted an MDM strategy as a core component of its architectural transformation to enable key business objectives. His team has delivered Product MDM solutions that radically improve time to market for product launch and change and Customer MDM implementations that underpin BT's customer service targets. This is his second stint at BT having spent 10+ years there designing and developing telecoms software and systems before leaving in 1996 to form telecom start-up Virtual Access and subsequently joining mobile software vendor OpenWave Systems. Mr. Loughlin received his BSc Electronics from Queens University Belfast in 1979 and MSc Information Technology from University of Ulster in 1993.

Jeanette Møller has been working within the Information Management space for the past seven years in different roles initially as a data steward, manager for a data steward unit, project manager for various analytical master data implementations, and the list continues.  Ms. Møller joined Nordea in 1997 and has held a number of different positions ranging from IT Manager to Head of Finance Business Development to Program Manager for various data strategic programmes.  Currently she is the Master Data Program Manager with responsibility for executing Nordea’s company-wide Master Data strategy.  This Master Data Program includes four projects, two external supporting suppliers and five countries.  Ms. Møller holds a Masters Degree in Management Accounting from Aarhus Business School in Denmark.

He also holds a joint Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research from Columbia’s School of Engineering and Columbia College.

Ralf Teschner is Business Consultant in the CDI/MDM Practice at Cognizant Technology Solutions, based in London. With over 17 years of experience as a business analyst and consultant, Mr. Teschner has built a track record of delivering substantial business benefit by delivering on a wide range of innovative cost-cutting and revenue growth strategies. In his current role, he is focused on developing Cognizant’s verticalised, pre-built MDM offerings (MDM-in-a-Box) and working with clients on identifying and achieving their business benefits in the rapid deployment of bespoke MDM implementations. Following master’s degrees in Munich and Aachen, Mr. Teschner worked in Germany, the U.S. and the UK, most recently at Gartner, the IT research firm.

Nigel Turner

Nigel Turner is Head of ICT Customer Management within BT Exact IT, BT’s main software house. He leads a team of 130 consultants & technical experts in CRM, Billing and Data & Information Management, including specialists in data warehousing, data migration, data quality, data mining, data visualisation, Siebel, Interactive Voice Response & Computer Telephony Integration. Nigel has worked in BT for 25 years, mostly in a variety of IT roles including project & programme management. He also spent five years in BT’s Group Strategy unit, where he led business information management and corporate data quality initiatives. Outside BT he is a part time Associate Lecturer with the UK Open University where he teaches Systems & the Management of Change. Nigel has published several papers on information management and data quality, and is a regular speaker in IM conferences. Before joining BT, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science in the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada.

Mr. Ertu Uysal has joined Havelsan A.S in 2003 and has held several positions starting from software development specialist to technical team leader for 3 years. Since November 2007, he has been working for Komtas Bilgi Yönetimi Danismanlik A.S, which is the leading Consultancy,Software Development and System Integrator Company on Identity Resolution, Data Quality and Data Integration, as a Product Manager. Currently, he is managing the portfolio of the products including Informatica Data Integration and Data Quality Platform, i2 Link Analysis, ACL (Audit Analytics and Continuous Monitoring Software Language), Pentana Paws Audit Management and Risk Software and Norkom Technologies in Komtas. Mr. Ertu Uysal has Computer Engineering Bachelor’s Degree from Bilkent University, Engineering Management Master’s degree from Middle East Technical University and holds Bilimer Akademi PMP Certification.

Arnold van Overeem

Arnold van Overeem brings over 34 years of experience in architecture and design of international telecommunications and information interchange infrastructures and transformational issues to his role as Global Architect in the Sector Products of Capgemini Netherlands.  Before taking up this role in July 2001, Mr. van Overeem had a similar role in the Sector Finance of Capgemini Netherlands.  He is a senior member of the international architecture community in Capgemini and a member of The Open Group UDEF Project, and has been working in banking, insurance, automotive industry, chemical industry, high-tech industry, retail, logistics, public services and telecom industry in roles varying from consulting to interim management. He is an expert on infrastructure architecture and has been instrumental in setting up infrastructures both at commercial and governmental organisations. His roles cover strategic, technical, organisational and security aspects. Before joining Capgemini, Mr. van Overeem was ICT-consultant and project manager at the NMB-bank, one of the founding organisations of the ING-group where he contributed to the creation of the online payment and telebanking infrastructure in the Netherlands.  He graduated in chemistry and numerical mathematics from the Leiden University in 1974 and is a vice chair of the Semantic Interoperability workgroup of The Open Group.

Bart van Thiel

Bart van Thiel is Senior Consultant at ConQuaestor Consulting in the Netherlands. Mr. van Thiel has been consulting for eight years with profound experience in describing and translating business processes and business requirements into IT solutions. He has a vast experience in the utilities and telecom domain with specific focus on optimization of financial processes (P2P, O2C, and R2R), ERP and SSC/Outsourcing. In his latest (MDM) project at KPN as project manager, Mr. van Thiel was responsible for the realisation of efficiency improvements and associated cost reduction within the process Record to Report where the requirements included a single and univocal determination of financial master data plus an efficient process for the management of financial master data for the substitution of the former complex, labour-intensive and expensive process. The end result was the creation of a central location for the management of financial master data. This MDM project at KPN was completed in early 2009 with KPN now reaping the benefits of the solution. Mr. van Thiel received his Masters degree in Business Administration from the Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Andy Walker

Andy Walker has worked for BP for 23 years and lives in Ascot, London. Mr. Walker has spoken on the subject of MDM at the SAP Sapphire Orlando conference in May 2008, the Vienna user conference in May 2007, the MDM Gartner conference (Florida) in September 2007 and the MDM Summit (New York) in November 2007. He provides program coordination of MDM activities in BP and has developed standards for the implementation of the MDM architecture and also maintains a consolidated list of MDM related activities. In addition to MDM, Mr. Walker’s areas of expertise include ERP deployment, with both SAP and non-SAP systems. He graduated from Loughborough University with a First Class Batchelor of Science Honours degree in Computer Studies in 1985.

Paul Woodward has worked at British Airways for the last 20 years in roles ranging from Systems Analyst through to Enterprise Data Architect including spells in the commercial team responsible for the creation of “ba.com”, the airlines award winning website. Mr. Woodward created the model for implementation of data governance within British Airways as well as managing the implementation responsibility for data governance. Prior to his data governance charter, he was responsible for the development and improvement of data structures for the integrated corporate data warehouse and promoting the use of modelling within the Information Management community. Mr. Woodward also provided consultancy to project teams within BA in addition to developing of enterprise data models across BA and promoting their use.

Aaron Zornes is the founder and chief research officer of the MDM Institute (formerly the CDI-MDM Institute). Mr. Zornes is a noted speaker and author on Global 2000 enterprise IT issues and is the most quoted industry analyst on the topics of master data management (MDM), customer data integration (CDI), and data governance. Mr. Zornes is also the editor and lead contributor to DM Review’s CDI and MDM Newsletters as well as the monthly columnist for both CDI and MDM. Prior to founding the MDM Institute, he was founder and executive VP of META Group’s largest research advisory practice for 15 years. Mr. Zornes also held line and strategic management roles in leading vendor and user organizations, including executive and managerial positions at Ingres Corp., Wang, Software AG of North America, and Cincom Systems. Mr. Zornes received his M.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona.
