Chris Farnworth

Chris Farnworth has over 20 years experience within information technology and consultancy arena. Mr. Farnworth started his career with Price Waterhouse management consultancy for five years providing consultancy and software development services across the Financial, Utility and Telecoms market sectors. He then spent time working for a US software house and also as a freelance consultant, as he performed roles in programme and delivery management in the UK, Europe and the US. Latterly Mr. Farnworth has specialised in CRM, customer insight and data warehousing applications, occupying principle roles for O2, Sainsbury's Bank and Halifax Bank of Scotland. In 2008, he joined HBOS as Lead Data Architect, responsible for formulating and delivering the group's data strategy. Following the merger with Lloyds, Mr. Farnworth took up the role as Lead Information Architect for Lloyds Banking Group where he has worked to establish the group's MDM capability and is the principle architect responsible for the group's customer domain strategy. With the integration of LTSB and HBOS, he currently is design lead for the integration of the group's operational customer platforms. Mr. Farnworth has a BSc in Economics from the University of Hull, and an MSc in IT from the University of Aston in Birmingham.

Chris Furmanski is currently the UK Post Office's Enterprise Information Architect. Mr. Furmanski's 25+ years in Information Technology have spanned roles covering programming, data modelling, structured application design, development methods, and a number of architecture roles across business, applications and data architecture. He has increasingly focused on information architecture and in particular the power of information governance to improve the effectiveness of information use across an organisation. Mr. Furmanski has worked in numerous IT organisational models - in-house systems departments, centralized IT, federated IT departments, and retained IT organisations in an outsourced model. He works with senior management in IT and business areas to identify and progress enterprise-wide changes with a 3-5 year horizon. Prior to the Post Office, Mr. Furmanski spent 8+ years as Information Architect at Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Group. He graduated in Mathematics from the University of Warwick and taught Mathematics for 7 years after receiving a Post Graduate Certificate of Education from the University of Bristol.

Dries Geeraert latest assignment was Director in the Processes and Systems department within Volvo Construction Equipment where he was in charge of the worldwide Master Data Management as well as initiatives on the Corporate Data Warehouse and Data Quality (the latter associated to both MDM and CDW).

Prior to this professional assignment, he held a position as Principal Consultant Business Intelligence at CTG Belgium where he successfully lead various national an international projects, Most of them focussing on B.I. and Data Management. During some years, he assumed the role of European Quality Manager (ISO 9000 and TickIT) within CTG.

Between 1999 and 2006, Dries combined his professional career with an assignment as professor at EMS (EHSAL Management School) in Brussels (Belgium) teaching on Project Management, Business Intelligence and Data Quality topics.

Before, Dries has been working at Exxon Chemical International, first in internal audit and then in the area between IT and Sales & Marketing pioneering in what now is commonly known as Data Warehousing.

He started his professional career with KPMG Belgium.

He holds several Master Degrees which form along with a wide variety of business courses a solid basis for his almost twenty years of experience in the B.I. and Data Management areas.

Steve Gray

Steve Gray is British, he studied Information Technology at college and began his career in a UK Frozen Foods business in their IT development department. Whilst there, he worked on a wide variety of commercial, planning and supply chain systems. From IT Steve moved into the Finance function and became a qualified in accountant in a major UK Tea company. In the accounting function, Steve was responsible for the management accounting activities of a billion euro turnover business and was involved operationally in the disposal and acquisition of several businesses. During this period he was the functional contact responsible for the selection and implementation of finance software in the business. From this position Steve moved into the lead master data role in a programme which delivered a single regional (European) Unilever supply chain company supported by a standard set of systems and processes. This involved a complete review of the governance, definitions, ownership and data quality regime across the region.

Steve's current role within Unilever is that of Director - Global Master Data Processes. In this position he is responsible for MDM issues across all operations in this 40 billion Euro turnover consumer products group business. Steve is a member of Unilever's Global Information Standards Board which is responsible for the development, deployment and compliance of key information and data standards across all units.

Hardeep Gulati is vice president of product strategy for Oracle. In this role, he leads the product roadmap and business requirements that define Oracle's Agile Product Lifecycle Management, Oracle Product Hub, and Oracle Sales Configurator.

Prior to joining Oracle, Mr. Gulati was vice president of product development at SpinCircuit Inc., a PLM electronics company founded by Cadence, HP, Flextronics, and Avnet. He also served as the founder and chief technology officer for eBizAutomation Inc., a company that was acquired by SpinCircuit. Early in his career, Mr. Gulati held senior consulting positions at Lucent Technologies and Dun & Bradstreet.

Mr. Gulati holds a master's in business administration from Wharton Business School. He also received a bachelor's degree in computer science from the National Institute of Technology in Nagpur, India and a master's in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology in Bombay, India.

He then moved from the customer side to work for a supplier, and for the past 11 years has managed professional services and pre-sales teams across various vertical sectors whilst also directing programmes for various key accounts and projects, most notably in the areas of application integration and EIM.

Pascal Laik is in charge of the Master Data Management (MDM) business for Europe at Informatica as the MDM Sales Director EMEA.

Before that, he was the Vice President of MDM Products at Oracle with global product responsibilities including product strategy, product management, industry go to market, and the coordination of Oracle MDM sales, marketing, alliances, analyst relation and services groups.

Prior to that position, Pascal led the Customer Data Integration (CDI) Oracle/Siebel solution specialist team in EMEA and following a position where he led the CDI/UAN product line at Siebel Systems within the Product Marketing organization. Before his 10 years at Siebel/Oracle, Pascal worked 8 years in Consulting including 4 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Paris as a Manager and 4 years with Andersen Consulting in Paris and Chicago as a Senior Consultant.

Pascal has a Master of Science in Engineering from Ecole Nationale Superieure de Techniques Avancees (ENSTA), Paris France and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the Wharton School from the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated with a major in Finance in May 2000 with distinction.

Prior to Joining SAP, Mr. Mahimainathan led the data quality product line at Siebel Systems’ as part of their customer data integration (CDI) solution. Prior to Siebel, he held senior consulting management positions at Oracle Corp. where he led several implementation projects for Oracle’s ERP and CRM solutions with focus on the telecommunication industry. Mr. Mahimainathan holds a MBA from University of California, Berkeley and a MS in Engineering from State University of New York, Syracuse.

He is currently the Technical Director for Composite's EMEA operation. Prior to joining Composite, Mr. Pestell was an enterprise architect at BMC Software using EII and EAI technologies for application and data integration of the BMC product suite providing business systems management solutions and enterprise reporting. He was also co-founder and CTO of Simulus a UK-based technology company providing simulation-based performance analysis tools for Oracle and UDB. Simulus was acquired by BMC in 2002. Mr. Pestell has also worked on large data integration and data storage projects at Cray Research. He received a First Class Honours degree in Computer Science from the University of the South Bank London.

Thore Thomassen has worked with IT solutions for the financial sector as a developer, project manager and architect since 1989. He started in Storebrand in 1997 and has been one of the main architects behind Storebrands SOA initiative. He has a Bsc in Computer Science from Heriot Watt in Scotland. Currently he is a working with IT strategy and is the main architect for the customer area within Storebrand. He has been one of the main driving forces behind establishing a common Nordic customer solution for Storebrand, based on IBMs MDM package. Thore has a broad experience from SOA based solutions and is currently working on an initiative to standardize, integrate and automate business processes across the enterprise.

Nigel Turner is an independent data management consultant, specialising in enterprise data quality and data governance. Recently he authored part of the Institute of Direct Marketing's "IDM Award in Data Management", a new online data management training programme to be launched in March 2011.

Prior to this Nigel worked for British Telecommunications plc. (BT) for 30 years. He held a variety of senior roles at BT, mainly specialising in information management and CRM. His last BT role was as an Information Management Consultant within BT's Innovate & Design, where he worked with BT Group Human Relations to improve BT's management of personnel information.

Before this Nigel ran BT Innovate & Design's Customer Management practice where he led a team of 170 consultants & technical specialists in CRM and Data & Information Management, including data warehousing, data migration, data quality, data mining, data visualisation, business intelligence, Siebel, Interactive Voice Response & Computer Telephony Integration. He also spent five years in BT's Group Strategy unit, where he led enterprise wide business information management and data quality initiatives. During this period he also personally provided data management consultancy to a number of external organisations including the UK Ministry of Defence, HBOS, Intel US & Belgacom.

Nigel has published several papers on information management (IM) and data quality, and is a regular speaker at CRM & IM conferences. In November 2007 he was voted runner up in the Data Strategy magazine's Data Manager of the Year award.

Mr. White's most recent project experience includes experience with IBM's WebSphere Customer Center, Informatica MDM (Siperian), Oracle's Customer Data Hub, Siebel's Universal Customer Master, Initiate Systems (now IBM Master Data Services), and Data Flux: development of enterprise roadmaps to move large organizations into SOA architecture, implementations of CDI, MDM, metadata repository, and data governance processes. Project responsibilities included: business requirements, functional requirements, vendor product evaluations, business case, vendor contracts for software and services, and configuration requirements - including data mastering requirements. Prior to Baseline Consulting, as Senior Manager of Integration for the California State Automobile Association he managed key initiatives including: Enterprise CDI, SOA architecture for Enterprise Orchestration and Enterprise Middleware, and Metadata Repository. He also was a contributor to the corporate IT Re-Engineering and Data Governance transformation programs. Additionally, Mr. White was employed at Wells Fargo during its acquisition of Crocker National (the largest banking merger in history at that time), as well as projects with IBM and EDS. He received his MBA from St. Mary's College of California.
